Our Knaphill newsletter is going out today- I hope you enjoy reading about what the children have got up to this term. As well as the newsletter, here are a few additional events that we’d like to share with you.
4C’s assembly was wonderful to watch this morning. It was packed full of all of the fantastic learning that has taken place this half term. From a great call and response song to high level descriptive writing and incredible re-enactment of the story of Anansi, this assembly had everything you could ask for. Well done to 4C and Mrs Constantinou for all your hard work.
It was great to see so many parents at parents evening, if you weren’t able to make the dates please contact the school office to arrange a time that is convenient.
Year 3 had a fantastic time at Butser Ancient Farm on Wednesday. They really impressed their teachers with how well behaved they all were and how they all got stuck in to all of the activities. Each group took part in 4 different activities linked to the Stone Age, including clunching (mixing a Stone Age ‘cement’ out of chalk, mud and water to build a wall), pottery, chalk carving and an archaeology activity where they dug up bits of bone, pottery and tools. Some of the Year 3 children participated in an exciting football tournament at Winston on Tuesday which they really enjoyed.
Year 6 hosted their political parties campaigns this afternoon and they were very persuasive. We’ll have to wait and see who the winners are from each class. It was lovely to see how excited the children were and the political tactics they used to get more votes! Year 6 also visited The Vyne and performed their Harvest assembly to member of the community.
Just to let you know that after half term, slime will be no longer allowed in school. Thank you for your support with this.
Congratulations to our Wonder Wall winners and to the Stars of the week.
Well done to 5L for winning the attendance cup with an attendance of 100%!
