Welcome From Mrs Sebo (Austen)

I am hugely privileged to be the Head of School at Knaphill School which is such a wonderful school! I joined the school in September 2012 as Head of Year 6 and became Deputy Head in September 2014 and more recently Head of School in September 2016. I’m very proud of our most recent Ofsted inspections which shows the school in its true light. We are now on a journey to make the school outstanding in all areas.

At Knaphill, we all take great pride in everything we do and we work hard to achieve beyond potential. It is a happy and safe environment that nurtures all aspects of talent and creativity and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to celebrate both their own achievements, and those of others.

We currently teach the pupils through 12 classes from Year 3 to Year 6. We have a dedicated, highly committed and experienced team of staff. All classes have teaching assistant time. We also have a highly experienced Booster Teacher who works with different year groups to give children an added ‘boost’ in English or Maths so that they achieve full potential.

We pride ourselves on our caring ethos where every child is supported to achieve their best. We have a board game lunchtime club where children can have time to talk or have some to play inside if they find it difficult to play outside. We have robust anti bullying and positive behaviour policies in place and all classes have a ‘Talk to me’ display. We also have a worry box which is checked weekly and worries are listened to and children feel supported. We are a ‘Telling School’ where we encourage children to always talk through their worries before they go home and the children all understand why this is important.

Our Pupil Parliament is made up of 4 councils and each council meets every other week and then they talk with the children in their classes and make a decision about the school and ways it can be improved. You can meet the Council member and read all their meeting minutes on the Pupil Parliament page.

It is of great importance to us to ensure that as a school, with ‘family’ at our core, that everyone feels included, safe and confident. We believe that parents and guardians are equally important as the children. We take great care to ensure that everyone can celebrate in their children’s achievements, speak to a teacher whenever needed, or even give up their time to assist within the classroom, at lunchtime or help out the PTA! Knaphill School’s doors are ‘always open’.

We are very proud of our school, what we have achieved and our plans to achieve even more. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and we hope it gives you a feel for what makes Knaphill such an inspiring place to be. Visits to our school are always welcomed!
